Who are these guys, anyway?

So who are these guys that make this crazy music?

  • Dave Soletsky: on piano, organ, synth, and occasional vocal utterances
  • John Springer: on bass guitar, upright bass, and electroverdrivamotron
  • Glenn Webb: on drums, percussion
  • Jessie Brown: on guitar and laptop
  • Cass Stevens: on Tenor Saxophone

We get together ever week or so to jam and we record everything we do. Not everyone is able to make it every week, and sometimes we have some special guests, so I'll try to say who is on each group of tunes. We all contribute some small hand percussion from time to time as well.

If you like what you hear, or don't you can tell us about it by clicking on the 'comments' link at the bottom of each post. Also, the song titles are, for the most part, picked randomly with little regard for the piece associated with it. Usually I open a book and look for interesting phrases or combinations of words. I'll try to put a reference to where the titles come from.

Internet Archives

I've put a link in the side bar to the Internet Archives site.

Internet Archives is a free site where people can upload and download files of all kinds. It was inspired by the Grateful Dead's habit of letting people tape their concerts and share the tapes through out the Dead community. There are a lot of really cool things you can get on this site. There are really old movies that you can download (movies that are beyond there copy write years). There are also audio files of bands and presidential speeches, lectures, old radio shows. You can download old Superman cartoons or old Buck Rodgers serials.

It is definitely worth taking a look at.

U.S.A has put it's second CD 'Whirligig' on this site, as well as some other pieces worth checking out. The plan is that in the future as we need to take pieces down from this site we will transfer them to the Internet Archive site so you can still get to the older pieces.

All of the pieces on this post were originally one very long piece. To make it a little easier to down load I split it up into four pieces with some minor editing (fading in and out to keep the beginnings and endings from sounding too abrupt)
